Business thrives on “new” and “improved”–new products, improved packaging, fresh slogans. When something’s new, it’s newsworthy. When something’s improved, it’s the darling of the moment, the stand-out on the shelf that merits a second look from consumers. Even celebrities apply this idea of “new” and “improved” to their personal brands. That’s why they’re constantly altering their hair color or trying out new styles. Who takes pictures of the same old, same old? Only the freshest–or most outlandish–looks get publicity. “New”gets the attention and improves sales!

Rely on a Virtual Assistant During Your Out-of-Office Experiences

Life is full of surprises. Just last Sunday night, I was snuggled in for a long night’s sleep when a phone call jarred me into a new reality. Mom was in the hospital, and I needed to journey to be with her as she recovered from a rather daunting health scare. Sunday night, I laid down to rest–as always; Monday morning, I embarked on a restless week that was totally unexpected.

Not surprisingly, my work-a-day world attempted to go on in spite of my surprising, turbulent family duties. I packed the laptop, knowing full well that clients would still be calling and deadlines would still have to be addressed, even if I was not in my regular office. I’ve long been a virtual office person, so I can alter locations and work remotely with great fluidity. It’s the mental space that was harder to transport this week. It’s been tough to keep it all afloat while also tending to Mom’s needs.
